Andres Pichardo first started making bedroom recordings as Grand Resort in his country of origin, the Dominican Republic. After officially relocating to Brooklyn earlier in February, and adding 3 more members, the band recently announced that they have been signed to DiscAu records, which will release their forthcoming album Vanguard Dreams, on September 4th. This album, the result of Pichardo locking himself in his apartment, features dreamy layers of swirling synths, sparkly guitars, ghost-like vocals, and could be described as dreamy-shoegaze-indie-pop, or more simply: awesome. Along with their upcoming album release, Grand Resort is planning a US tour in the fall. In the meantime, you can catch them at Spike Hill on July 18th, and Cameo Gallery on August 1st.
