I have a pretty strong opinion about the abuse of #FF on Twitter.  For those that don’t use the service, it stands for ‘Follow Friday’, a way to let your followers know who else is interesting on Twitter.  It’s often just ignored, however, because each person suggests at least six people.  I think the Oatmeal comic (click image below) explains my point of view perfectly.

So, we started our #FF feature as a way to take our single #FF of the week a step further and explain why our selection is a good person to follow.  This week, the spotlight’s on Brooklyn-based band, The Antlers (@theantlers).

They’ve been one of my favorite bands for the past two years, and since I began following them on Twitter, I haven’t been disappointed once.  They consistently post photos of themselves, share news about their upcoming releases, tour dates, and are likely to respond to fan comments.  What’s really interesting is their interactions with other bands (recently, @nicoleatkins, @bearinheaven, @portstwillow, and more).

Regardless of whether you’re into their music, they’re an interesting group of guys with captivating things to say.  Give them a shot.
