This post has nothing to do with The National or LCD Soundsystem or Justin Beiber, so if that’s what you’re looking for, leave now. I’m a bit pissed off about how much press the aforementioned bands are getting. Not that they don’t deserve press, they’re all very talented (yes, even Mr. Beiber). I personally love the new The National album, but I can’t really say the same for LCD Soundsystem.

So what is this post about? Well, I’m on a kick of listening to music that makes me feel all warm and shit, so I’m very happy to write something about Fergus Brown. This dude’s doing something write with his honest, warming lyrics and beautiful array of instrumentals. I’ve been bumping his tracks John, She Was Never Only Dancing, Little Pinks or Blues, and Last Winter, all of which are gorgeous displays of emotion and could be considered emo (if emo actually was a genre for emo-tional music).
So a little bit about Mr. Brown. He’s from Australia, and has won various awards including the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and Qantas Spirit of Youth Award. Good shit! He obvious loves burgers as you would know if you’ve seen his album art (or maybe it’s satire and he’s actually a vegetarian?). Either way, I love his music, and hope to work with him in the near future. I’m off to contact his management now. Peace!
