I’m the type of guy that loves girl singers. A rock band that has female vocals adds an entirely new element that is unparalleled (in my mind). A certain duo that can “rock your socks off” is Tegan and Sara, a set of identical twins (twins!) from Canada. Their music has been featured on the soundtracks of various TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, The Hills, and One Tree Hill. It’s an understatement to say these chicks are badass. They’re intense lyrics, focused instruments, and interwoven vocals have the ability to energize any listener. I feel cheated by the fact that I’ve only been listening to them for just over a year (thanks Alessandra!).

Exciting news! On October 27th they release a new album entitled Sainthood. As opposed to their previous practice of writing separately, the sisters decided to spend some time writing together at a New Orleans hotel. This experience obviously benefitted the pair, as they are featuring a co-written song for the first time. After listening to the album for a few days now (don’t ask how I’m listening to it), it’s really good! Judge for yourself though, and buy it when it comes out on the 27th!
