Windmills of Your Mind – Parenthetical Girls Windmills of Your Mind – Parenthetical Girls
Gut Symmetries – Parenthetical Girls Gut Symmetries – Parenthetical Girls
Wow, just wow. I haven’t been this blown away by a band in a long time. Parenthetical Girls, currently based out of Portland, Oregon, is a seemingly unflawed band that pumps out infectious indie pop tunes that are likely to make you jump up and down for no apparent reason. That’s exciting right? I listened to them during a jog I took earlier today, and let’s just say it was one of the fastest 3 miles I’ve ever ran. Great shit.
To put it simply, image Andrew Bird in a musical blender with Dirty Projectors. They’ve got the violin and graceful vocals, with a bit of the quirkiness and dual vocals of Dirty Projectors. Interested? I thought so. The band formed back in 2003 out of the ashes of The Swastika Girls (named after a Brian Eno composition), Parenthetical Girls is comprised of Zac Pennington, Rachel Jensen, Eddy Crichton, Jherek Bischoff, and Freddy Ruppert.
Parenthetical Girls is currently on tour, so check out the following dates and try to get to one of their shows:
I’d assume that they put on amazing show. In the meantime, you can also buy their most recent album by clicking here. Now go enjoy the glorious music of Parenthetical Girls! What are you waiting for?
