Though I have known of them for quite some time, Noah and the Whale has just recently become a band of interest to me. They released a new album on September 1st entitled The First Day of Spring which stands out to me as being one of the best indie records of the year. It is filled with heartfelt songs that range from upbeat spiritual music to instrumentals. The best songs come in the form of ballads that are sung beautifully by lead vocalist, Charlie Fink, and accompanied by elegant violins. This is an amazing band that people of all ages can enjoy.
