Annie has done it again. My friend from college is a musical genius. This next artist is a suggestion from her that’s absolutely amazing. Andrew Mayer Cohen aka Mayer Hawthorne (his middle name plus the name of the street he grew up on aka his pornstar name) is credited with being a singer, producer, songwriter, arranger, audio engineer, DJ, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist. That’s a pretty amazing list of talents.

Now I’m a huge fan of oldies. The Temptations, Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, and Barry White are some of favorites (when it comes to Motown music), and as much as I love the directly music is going in recently, I always yearn for some new “old” music. It isn’t everyday that a current musician tackles this musical genre successfully (or even TRIES), but Hawthorne is fucking amazing and does exactly that. His grooves are deep, loving, and prefect for baby-making. His most recent album, A Strange Arrangement is an absolutely glorious offering that will blow any music fan away.
