For me, it was hard to decide on an opinion of Jones Street Station, with their songs ranging from generic sounding radio rock to a genre-twisting homage to the country rock of yesteryear. With two albums under their belt, they’re playing one last show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 28th before going back to work on their third.
Their song Neville goes from soft organs and harmonica to the entire band breaking out and screaming together, while Evergreen is a little more conventional with its songwriting and structure, repeating the chorus, and adding a little more onto it each time by the end. But maybe that’s just how country rock is? Either way, hopefully they’ll feel confident enough to maybe expand and experiment with their songwriting when they return to the studio.
If you want some high-energy dancing mixed with maybe few slow ones for a date, catch their $10 show later this month!
