Well, no, I’m not really from Barcelona. That’s just the name of a great band I’ve been listening to for the past few days. They remind me a lot of Beat Radio, who I previously posted about. I’m From Barcelona, unlike Beat Radio, is a foreign band from Sweden (not Spain) that uses a wide variety of instruments to achieve their unique sound. From the moment I began listening to them, it was clear I would be writing about their music. Their music offers instant gratification to listeners, evoking strong emotions through memorable lyrics that lead singer, Emanuel Lundgren, delivers brilliantly. Songs range from mournful ballads to cheerful sing-a-longs, yet neither outshines the other.
There is something else I find especially cool about I’m From Barcelona. This isn’t some one-man show. With 29 members, I’m From Barcelona has more than four times the amount of members of the next-biggest band in my music library (Arcade Fire). This is definitely a band I need to see live.
