EZA’s ‘High & Low’ Allures with Brooding Vocals and Swelling Beats [Stream]

I first heard EZA’s 2014 self-titled EP late last year and have been entranced by the electro-pop song “High & Low” ever since. Ellery Bonham’s brooding vocal performance layered over swelling synthetic beats allow us to get lost in EZA’s world, enveloping us in a blanket of sultry sound. The repetitive lyrics such as “I burrowed in your love once” or “Get out of my head” plead to us to let go of what once was, adding to the song’s mystery and allure. Despite becoming immersed in this seemingly moody sentiment, though, it still feels cathartic and liberating. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re just as eager as I was to hit replay (again and again).
