Exploring The Body With High Highs’ ‘London After The Rain’ [Video]

Chilled-out New York duo High Highs have released a spectacular music video for “London After The Rain,” a track off their recent album Cascades. The video, directed by Adam France, is a contemplative exploration of embodiment and color, as its stars drape each others’ naked bodies in layers and streaks of paint. With gentle, choreographed movements that evolve in tandem with the instrumentation of the track, with its picked guitars and crescendoing synths, the two dancers confront and caress each other in ways that echo the rise and fall of a romance. Overlaid framing reminiscent of Wet’s video for I Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl and transparency effects give the narrative of the video a reverb effect, emphasizing the emotional connection of its story.
