Below is an interview I got to conduct with British band Bombay Bicycle Club. These guys are great, and are doing some very interesting things. To buy their album, just head over to iTunes (click here), or if you just want to sample their stuff, you can check out their MySpace (click here). Enjoy!

the WILD honey pie: Hey guys, thanks so much for answering these questions. After all the success you’ve had with your debut album, what are you doing now to create something equally brilliant?
Bombay Bicycle Club: We went on a band retreat into the wilds of Africa. 4 djembes and a stylist. At least we’re going to look amazing.

the WILD honey pie: What’s the laziest comparison to another band you’ve ever heard?
Bombay Bicycle Club: Interpol, The Strokes.

the WILD honey pie: If you could go back in time and play in one music festival ever, which would it have been?
Bombay Bicycle Club: Newport Jazz Festival 1958

the WILD honey pie: Any foods you always eat before a gig?
Bombay Bicycle Club: Pistachios, sushi, and something disgusting from a fast food restaurant

the WILD honey pie: What animal epitomizes your sound?
Bombay Bicycle Club: A big whale that everyone wants to hunt and make into sushi.

the WILD honey pie: What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened at one of your shows?
Bombay Bicycle Club: In Brussels, a girl was getting so into it that she ran head first into Jack’s guitar. She started bleeding everywhere. The guitar was still in tune.

the WILD honey pie: 2009 was packed with stellar band debuts. Who was your favorite band to release their first material last year?
Bombay Bicycle Club: DeTwain’s debut
Milane.

the WILD honey pie: What do you have planned for 2010?
Bombay Bicycle Club:
NME Tour, European tour, release our acoustic album in June, and record her next album.

the WILD honey pie: Is there anywhere in the world where you’ve been dying to perform? Why’s that?
Bombay Bicycle Club: Canada. Because that’s where all the good music comes from.

the WILD honey pie: Our site is called the WILD honey pie because of The Beatles song of the same name. If you could remake any song by The Beatles, which would it be?
Bombay Bicycle Club: Do you mean which Beatles song would we cover? That’s easy –
While My Guitar Gently Weeps. We would still have Eric Clapton on it though. And Ringo. Paul’s probably too busy

the WILD honey pie: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule!
