From the same red lands that brought the likes of The Flaming Lips, Starlite Mints and even Leon Russell, births a new up-and-coming artist known as Eutopian Accident. Their debut album, The Red Land Tradition, competes against many new emerging acts in the Oklahoma City area and does so with a new level of creativity and charm not seen since the original release of the state’s veteran rockers The Flaming Lips.

Red Land opens up with the track The Morning Office which invites the listener in and lets them know that their ears are in for a unique listening experience. Very organic, and very clean tones accompany Dustin Ragland’s (lead vocals, guitar, magic man) delivery of thought provoking lyrics.

Highlights of the album include the bouncy Our Breadth Is Wider Than Our Berth, Denver Blurry and the picture painting lyrics of Narodnik. The album both begins and ends very laid back, yet remains edgy in it’s creative approach with its rythems and effects so not to bore the listener.

Overall, the album is solid and is worth checking out, and we really can’t wait to see what the sophomore release from Eutopian Accident holds.
