ERIC KIM

Shuffle Through The Wild Honey Pie

I first heard Eric Kim at the NYU talent show; my first impression of this Georgia native was his honest songwriting. He performed a wonderful little love song called Wine, in which he pledges that “he’d take a plane to Memphis, to Hollywood and Vine, to find you and share that glass of wine.” Cute, right? Being a closet fan of singer-songwriters, I was instantly hooked. The rest of the songs on his MySpace and on his own website, www.erickim.net are equally as catchy and romantic. My personal favorite, besides Wine, is Georgia, I’ll Take You In; the song is so cute and it’s refreshing to see an artist who is just himself while still crafting nice little ditties. He reminds me of my other favorite singer-songwriter, Matt Nathanson (which is quite a compliment, because I love Matt Nathanson!) Eric played a few NYC venues beside the NYU talent show, like Sidewalk Café, but I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll hear a lot more from this talented artist in the coming months. If you’re looking for some mellow folk-pop, check him out!
