The melodic, sludgy punk rock of Toronto’s Dilly Dally has been many years in the making. Formed on the lasting musical bond between guitarists Katie Monks and Liz Ball, the band has settled comfortably into a lineup that showcases the wailing guitar lines of Ball and emphasizes the desperation in Monks’ powerful moan. Swathing the group’s energized performance in milky pastels, the video for their latest single, “Desire,” does just the same. Spliced, tinted shots of each band member’s ill-fated day in the suburbs find an anchor in Monks’ drilling stare and piercing growl. Dilly Dally’s debut album, Sore, will be out October 9th on Partisan Records.
