+30mg may be the debut album from Cruel Youth, but chances are you’ve heard singer Teddy Sinclair’s (formerly known as Natalia Kills) work before. Before forming Cruel Youth with her husband and musical partner Willy Moon, Sinclair worked on Madonna’s album Rebel Heart, co-wrote Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better.” Cruel Youth has a definitively unique sound, though, and “Hatefuck” is indicative of that. The track, which is about contemplating a volatile relationship, is illustrated by Sinclair’s emotive and soulful vocals. “Hatefuck” is a powerful ballad that mixes dreamy psychedelic pop with an ear-worm blues riff. Listen to the track above and enjoy.
