Cory Hanson Creates Ethereal Folk-Pop with ‘Replica’ [Stream]

As the frontman of psych-rock band Wand, Cory Hanson cultivated a sludgy garage rock sound. But his solo album The Unborn Capitalist from Limbo, released November 18, marks a significant shift in style for Hanson. “Replica,” which was the second single released off the album, is a soulful acoustic based folk-pop track, accentuated by a pastoral string section. The track is highlighted by Hanson’s quivering falsetto voice and faux british accent, a well as a tender and sweeping chorus that still manages to keep the psychedelic groove of his former work in tact. Check out the track above.
