ELEPHANT REVIVAL IN BOULDER

Shuffle Through The Wild Honey Pie

I was recently in Boulder, Colorado visiting my old college friends. Before my visit, I checked to find out if there were going be any good bands playing at the Fox Theatre or Boulder Theatre, but nothing fit my schedule. It was because of this that I was stoked to hear that an indie bluegrass band would be playing a gig at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Open bar, great art, good friends, and amazing music. What a combo!

I had no idea what to expect from Elephant Revival. I’d never heard of them, but I am into bluegrass stuff so I had a feeling I’d enjoy it. The stage was set up in front a really nice exhibit of photos. Really sick stuff.

The band hit the stage, and was an instant hit. Violin, bass, banjo, acoustic guitar, and washboard in hand, they played song after song to the crowd’s roaring pleasure. A talented group of musicians.

They were great! Looking around, everyone in the crowd was into the show. Dancing and admiring the beautiful voices of everyone in the band (the washboard player in particular). I don’t think I’ve ever been to as fun of a venue which is probably what added to the enjoyability of the gig. If you even remotely like bluegrass, please check out Elephant Revival. They are a true class act.
