Rhye and Cigarettes After Sex put on a beautiful performance last weekend at Webster Hall. To set the tone for the entire experience, Cigarettes After Sex took the stage to ease the crowd with their soothing, sensual pop sounds. Frontman Greg Gonzales has an incredible voice and uses it effortlessly. Fans watched the band perform in a blissful daze, mesmerized by songs like “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby” and their gorgeous cover of REO Speedwagon’s “Keep On Loving You.” This band has released two EPs to-date and have already acquired an immensely loyal fan-base. They certainly have a bright future ahead of them, and they were the perfect opener to the gorgeous and sexy sounds of Rhye.
Rhye took the stage and the absolutely beautiful music of Canadian singer Milosh and Danish instrumentalist Robin Hannibal graced everyone. They were backed by an incredible band of trombone, cello, drums, and violin. Milosh is quite a sight to see perform — he is meticulous and inventive. He takes on the role of composer, walking around to each instrument and enjoying it individually. They played songs from what’s to be their next album in addition to favorites like “The Fall” and “Open.”
