Darkness and Chelsea Wolfe go hand in hand. As she proved on her incredible record Pain is Beauty, she is the heir apparent to the goth-rock empire and an extremely deserving one at that. Her music mixes haunting orchestral elements with the industrial noise most associated with the genre and her delicate voice ties it all together in an absolutely magnetic bow. The new track from her forthcoming album Abyss, “Iron Moon,” shows her firing on all cylinders. With delicate verses that erupt into dark and dissonant choruses – she sounds like a PJ Harvey for a new generation. “Iron Moon” is a devistanting track, one that is as emotionally affecting as it is sonically adverterous, and we cannot wait to hear more. Abyss is due out August 7th on Sargent House.
