Listening to Cast Spells fills you up ‘til you burst with alliterative adjectives like GREAT! and GLORIOUS! Words which are not at all too grandiose when talking about work from the genius mind of David Davison (also from Maps & Atlases).
From the 2009 EP Bright Works and Baton comes a brand new video for “Glamorous Glowing,” directed by Behn Fanning. In a swift two-and-a-half minutes, the video perfectly captures the unique, clever and colorful nature of the music itself. Cast Spells brings forth a quirky, eccentric fanfare with “Glamorous Glowing,” to which a rhythm-driven electronic screen floats across scenic landscapes, its pixels changing steadily with the beat.

Not only is this clip a perfect combination of sight and sound, but you’ll have the chance to witness the magic of Cast Spells live during the month of December in support of Steve Mason (formerly of Beta Band) and his 2010 tour. There’s also grist in the rumor mill about a full-length Cast Spells album in the works over at Sargent House Records for 2011. Won’t that be grand!
Note: As you probably know, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part One comes out tomorrow. This should help you get in the mood!
