Once in a while, a band comes along and you can’t help but think that they write the soundtrack to your life. That band for me is Big Scary. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the duo have been making headlines nationally for several years with their calm, hip-hop-beated, alternative-styled brand of garage pop. From Tom Iansek and Jo Syme’s subtly suggestive lyrics to their interesting beats and intimate peaks and lows, their songs cater to all listening desires. In the lead-up to their 2013 full length release, Not Art, on June 28, Big Scary have released a taste of the album by making two singles, “Luck Now” and “Phil Collins,” available to their fans. Predictions say Big Scary are the next big thing, so pay attention!
