Though he is known first and foremost as the man behind Baths, anyone who delves into research on Will Wiesenfeld will instantly discover that this 21 year-old is an electronica powerhouse, pumping out some unbelievable material under a few other project names.
As Post-Foetus, the album The Fabric was released early last year. Showcasing not only Will’s lifelong classical piano training and his self-taught mastery of other instruments such as the viola, these ten songs are layered with a skilled sense of sampling and anchored with a deep, dark lyrical sensibility.
Sneaking in JUST on the cusp of 2011, Will released Mend under his project title Geotic, which was completed in only a matter of days leading up to the new year. The album is a gorgeous collection of 14 minimalistic ambient tracks that really express the raw beauty that can pour from a talented musician. As with the many other previous Geotic releases, Mend is absolutely free for download!
Baths will be touring with BRAIDS, Star Slinger and Gobble Gobble during the first quarter of 2011, and Will himself is bound to produce more spectacular, spontaneous work in the coming months.
