B.o.B recently announced that he is going to embark on his first ever headlining tour, “Shooting For Stars”, starting at the end of this month. With the major success of his debut album B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray backing him up, this tour can easily be one of the most exciting this fall.
I didn’t fall in love with B.o.B until after I saw him live earlier this year in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A fraternity at the University of Michigan held a benefit were portions of the proceeds went to relief efforts in Haiti. After a long search for the venue, we finally found [our way]; a small empty building just off University of Michigan’s’ campus. At this point red flags went up as soon as I finally realized that this concert would most likely be packed with fraternity MCDOUCHERS.
Doors opened and it was only ten steps to the stage, this is where my Olympic speed walking skills come in handy at shows. I ended getting front row sandwiched between fan girls (Mike Posner performing too) and the fraternity MCDOUCHERS (honestly worst combo ever know to man, this was probably one of the worst crowds I have ever had to stand in).
Horrible crowd aside, B.o.B took to the stage showed the crowed what good hip-hop rap entertainment should be. From start to finish he was in total control of the show and the crowd. B.o.B is not a wanna be guitarist (cough Lil’ Wayne cough); he can actually play pretty well, and his backing band complimented the set rather than over powering it. Cherry on top? B.o.B can sing well without auto tune. Over all a great experience, that gives one hope that the hip-hop/rap industry will finally start going in the right direction. I suggest going and seeing this man in action for yourself.
Rumors are running through the web that artist J.Cole with join B.o.B on his first stop in his hometown Atlanta, Georgia on July 31, 2010 and the Black Eyed Peas will also join him in Canada on August 1. Below are a list of dates where you to can shoot for stars with B.o.B.
