Animal Collective played the first of their two night stint at Irving Plaza with support from RATKING, promoting their new album Painting With, which was released earlier this month.

RATKING kicked off the night with an intense show, packed with hard-hitting rhymes that really got the crowd moving. Members Patrick “Wiki” Morales, MC Hak, and Sporting Life are incredibly original in their beats and rhymes and have a great way of interacting the crowd.

Animal Collective then performed after a complete stage revamp. The setup was beautiful and colorful, packed with eye-catching designs. Fans screamed at the top of their, lungs, as the experimental sounds filled the room — the band played new favorites like “FloriDada” and “Golden Gal”, in addition to classics like “Loch Raven”. This band does an incredible job of both visually and audibly keeping the audience on their toes, definitely making their performance one to see.
