Haven’t heard of Lissie yet? You’ve been missing out big time! She the next big thing, and I guarantee that by year’s end, she’ll be a household name (if you live in an indie alternative home). Her soul-injected ballads are stunningly composed, and boast her emotional vocals.
Lissie is a product of southern California, but don’t expect a glamorous popstar here! Though she’s signed to a major label, there’s not a moment on Why You Runnin’ that makes you think she’s compromised her creative talent to appeal to the mainstream audience. Her music does, however, possess the qualities to make it big in the industry. I’m excited to see her in the limelight!
The highlight of this EP has to be the slightly upbeat (especially compared to the rest of the songs) track, Little Lovin’. It’s an incredible song that I can really see being her big break (if it isn’t already). With this song, she provides listeners with clear evidence that she “ain’t to girl”, but a woman. The song explodes with a vicious chorus and charged hooks, making it an instant favorite of mine.
You really need to check out Why You Runnin’. It’s a phenomenal work of art that will definitely make you hit the repeat button. I’m giving it a 4 bee rating.
