Under the Sheets – Chiddy Bang Under the Sheets – Chiddy Bang
So I’m kinda a big fan of mashups and mixtapes. When I hear a good mashup, even if I’m walking down the street and I overhear some awesome song blasting from a car, I will either (A) whip out my notebook and write down every song I can make out and plan to find the track later or (B) I’ll just walk up to the car and ask. Actually I do B probably a bit too often, so if I ever go missing, just assume I was abducted in a relentless pursuit of song identification.
Check this — Chiddy Bang’s seven song mini mixtape Air Swell is phenomenal AND it’s free. And I also think I’m a little bit in love with both Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and Noah Beresin, aka Xaphoon Jones. The two met at Drexel University in Philly, a place I tend to avoid kind of like Boston, but perhaps I judged too fast. Chiddy’s a really fun emcee, the type of guy that might turn up at your house party and spit a few killer bars for the hell of it. I can see him keeping everyone smiling, laughing, and dancing all night. Also his rap style is real smooth and steady — it actually reminds me a lot of Kid Cudi.
But don’t take just my word for it, it’s free, so check the mixtape for yourself. I personally was INSTANTLY won over because they do some serious justice to Ellie Goulding’s Under the Sheets and Kate Nash’s Skeleton Song.
Oh and before I forget: Apparently they put this together in between flights to the UK, which I find ridiculous. Impressive! I guess not everyone abuses the free gin and tonics and little bottles of wine thing.
