When the five guys of Passion Pit aren’t together producing pure pop genius or jet-setting on world tours, they have a pretty nice portfolio of side projects that you should definitely know about!

Aislyn is a collaboration between Ian Hultquist and girlfriend Sofia Degli Alessandri. These lovebirds make beautiful music together, and their self-titled EP is a gentle electronic pop sensation. Layered with fascinating rhythms and tones that accompany Sofia’s angelic voice, the songs range from the reflective New Soul to their self-proclaimed dance track Hot Night (Daylight’s Coming). Aside from their own creative tracks, Sofia and Ian love a good remix, putting their unique twist on songs like Miniature Tigers’ “Bullfighter Jacket” (free download) and Freelance Whale’s “Generator ^ First Floor” (free download). Such a dynamic duo!

Drummer Nate Donmoyer operates under the title of Shuttle, and is a force to be reckoned with. The powerhouse remixes that come from this seemingly mild-mannered guy are borderline insane! Some of his mix tapes can run over an hour long, but their seamless flow and focus will knock your socks off and get you dancing. His remix style adds depth and flare to tracks from the likes of Phoenix and Body Language, all of which are party playlist musts.

Ayad Al Adhamy can either be found remixing sweet jams under the monicker Bo Flex, or teamed up with bandmate Jeff Appruzzese to DJ as The Wet Bandits. Ayad has “Bo Flex’d” many a track, most notably Tegan and Sara’s Alligator and Passion Pit’s own Sleepyhead, which I would be so bold as to say are better than the originals! When Jeff and Ayad combine forces, they’ve been known to throw some amazing shows together in NYC and Boston, so be on the lookout for a Wet Bandits production near you!

Until Passion Pit as a whole releases any sort of new material, let its members satisfy your musical needs with their respective pet projects!
