For their debut album Everybody’s God, pop-rock band Gush has compiled an irresistible mix of pop-rock melodies.  Hailing from the suburbs of Paris, the members of Gush consist of two brothers (Xavier and Vincent), their cousin (Mathieu) and a cousin of that cousin (Yan).

This family affair started during their high school years and has blossomed into the release of a full-length album this June. Their infectious energy and booming/gushing vocal harmonies render their songs perfect for the summer. Their single, Lets Burn Again is a concentrate of bliss describing two lovers reuniting. What is unique about Gush is that all four band members contribute music and lyrics and take turns singing lead vocals on songs, creating a welcome breadth of melodies and themes.

Their musical influences are diverse: Beatles, Rage against the Machine… and some shameful French singer from the 60s whom my parents used to listen to. Songs Back Home, No Way, and Dragster Cowboy will have you dancing all around the room, clapping your hands and stamping your feet to the beat while The Big Wheel and Remedy will give you time to catch your breath. This uplifting album is a must for anyone willing to enjoy the summer properly, with Beatles like pop!
